2023 Summer Intensive Course
Problems to Possibilities | August 7 - 18
Franke Honors is launching a new summer course offering, and it will be FREE for all Franke Honors students in 2023. In this class, you will:
- Connect in-person with fellow Franke Honors Wildcats from multiple disciplines.
- Tackle complex, dynamic, and networked problems.
- Analyze challenges from multiple perspectives.
- Study with Australian faculty from University of Technology Sydney.
- Earn 3 Honors units.

When creating your class schedule, you will need to log in to UAccess and search for courses. All general education, special topic, and seminar courses are listed under the "HNRS" prefix and course number. All other courses can be found under their departmental prefix and course number. General Education Franke Honors Courses | 3 units (unless otherwise noted)
All Franke Honors students have the opportunity to take interdisciplinary courses with highly engaged faculty to fulfill their University general education requirements while also receiving honors credit.
Franke Honors Seminars | 1 unit (unless otherwise noted)
Let your curiosity guide you! These 1-unit seminars are ideal for seeking new knowledge and perspectives or deepening your understanding of your major discipline. You can take as many seminars as you'd like during your undergrad (time allowing, of course), but all Franke Honors students must take at least one to graduate with honors.
Franke Honors Special Topics Courses
These close-knit courses challenge students to take their work to the next level. Open to all Franke Honors students, these fulfill the Franke Honors seminar graduation requirement.
Premiere Courses across the University
The W.A. Franke Honors College collaborates with departments across the University to offer honors sections of classes within degree programs. These courses offer opportunities to earn honors credits within another college at the University.
Franke Honors Minor and Certificate Courses
These courses are not necessarily exclusive to students in a thematic minor or certificate program, but they do fulfill a requirement in at least one of those programs.
Franke Honors Thesis Prep: Ignite
Ignite proseminar is a 1-unit 7-week thesis preparation course. You'll be introduced to independent research and project design and will develop a plan for you Honors Thesis.
