Spring 2025

We will meet every other week at a different site on campus, including the UA Museum of Art, Optics Building, Center for Creative Photography, Tree Ring Lab, Poetry Center, and Health Sciences Building. Throughout, we will develop short writing assignments that follow a trajectory: comparing timeless world myths and legends (Russian, Chinese, Persian) to more familiar material (Aesop, Brothers Grimm, Ovid). The assignments will be crafted to suit the diversity of majors in the class. Our goals: to sharpen our descriptive and expository writing skills in relation to world literature; to be inspired by our surroundings and appreciate the interconnectivity of our studies; to become more engaged members of our cultural community.
