Digital means of communication, often labeled "new media", have radically transformed life in the twenty-first century. Many of us can hardly imagine living without the advancements enabled by personal computers, smartphones, and the internet, but these technologies force us to confront important questions about how they should be used. In this course, we will examine a wide array of digital technologies and their applications to assess whether these technologies have in fact made our lives better, the moral challenges associated with their use, and the ways in which digital technology may contribute to, or detract from, a meaningful and fulfilling human life.
