Resume Guide for Current Franke Honors Students

For current students, make sure to highlight that you are a member of the W.A. Franke Honors College.
You have worked hard to be part of this program and should acknowledge that effort. Your resume should have an “Education” section, in which you include your major, minors, academic distinctions, awards, and any academic organizations. Belonging to the W.A. Franke Honors College can be a part of this section. You can include the W.A. Franke Honors College as part of the institution of the University of Arizona (on the same line as the university name in your resume), or you can list it as a membership under the University.
For example, your resume might include something like:

EDUCATION

W.A. Franke Honors College at the University of Arizona , Tucson, AZ
Fall 2022 to present

  • Candidate for the Bachelor of Science, Chemical Engineering
  • Minor in progress: Mathematics
  • Cumulative GPA: 3.7
Or, if it makes more sense for the job/position for which you’re applying, you can include the W.A. Franke Honors College as one of the programs in which you’re involved, like in the example below, where the Franke Honors College appears in a bulleted line under the University of Arizona.

EDUCATION

University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ
August 2021 to present

  • Intended graduation date: Spring 2025
  • Degree in progress: Bachelor of Science in Physiology
  • Member of the W.A. Franke Honors College, August 2021 to present
    • Completed honors coursework in advanced physiology and science courses, including Honors Chemistry
  • Recipient of the Wildcat Excellence Award, August 2021 to present
Additionally, as in the second example, you can highlight any honors coursework that may relate to the position of interest. If you were applying to a position as a Spanish interpreter, for example, you could absolutely include in your resume that you completed advanced Spanish courses with honors, including Business Spanish and Latin American literature. This distinction can be very helpful in distinguishing your experience from that of the other applicants.
