Study Abroad / Travel Scholarships

Travel can be an essential part of your Honors experience, whether it is a study abroad program with the W.A. Franke Honors College, with UArizona, or another accredited institution - or travel to a national or international conference to present your research. Whatever the case, we want to help, and the scholarships and awards below are a great way to get you where you are going. 

General Study Abroad Scholarships

Award: up to $1,500 (Award amounts are dependent upon availability of funds.)
Number of Awards: multiple
Eligibility:

  • Current W.A. Franke Honors Student   
  • Minimum 3.4 GPA 
  • Accepted into an accredited Summer Study Abroad program  

Open Date: August 26, 2024
Close Date: September 26, 2024

Additional Requirement: proof of acceptance to a program for award to disburse. 

Time commitment: up to an hour

This application is not for the First Year and Advanced Honors Trip. That is a separate application. 

 

W.A. Franke Global Fellowship

Award: up to $4,000
Number of Awards: up to 6
Eligibility:

  • Current W.A. Franke Honors Student    
  • Minimum 3.4 GPA  
  • Accepted into an accredited Study Abroad program (four or more weeks)  

Open Date: April 1, 2025
Close Date: May 1, 2025 

Additional Requirement: proof of acceptance to a program for award to disburse. 

Time commitment: up to an hour 

Franke Honors Summer Abroad Greece and Spain & Italy Trip

Award: $400 to $1,500
Number of Awards: multiple
Eligibility:

  • Current W.A. Franke Honors Student     
  • Minimum 3.4 GPA  
  • Must be accepted for the Franke Honors Summer Abroad Greece or Spain & Italy Trip Trip for the coming summer   

Open Date: September 24, 2024
Close Date: November 22, 2024 

Additional Requirement: proof of acceptance to a program for award to disburse. 

Time commitment: up to an hour

Eligibility:

  • Current W.A. Franke Honors Student accepted to present at conference     
  • Minimum 3.4 GPA   

Additional Requirement: letter of recommendation from current research mentor.

Time commitment: up to an hour

This award is solely for those who are presenting their research/findings at a professional conference.
