Come check out what students in the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation program, HNRS 270 Problems to Possibilities class, have created during the last class session. Students will be showcasing their projects and there will be an opportunity to vote for the fan favorite!
Problems to Possibilities is the first course in the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation (BCII), a future-focused degree co-created with industry, government and community partners designed to support students embarking into a world of work where change is the only constant. In order to solve the complex societal challenges of toady, we need different and innovative thinking across, between and beyond fields, and learning to navigate this complexity.
Students in this first course have spent the semester in Problems to Possibilities, the first course in the BCII, working toward an opportunity to solve a complex challenge in transdisciplinary teams as they embark on their journey to become a transdisciplinary practitioner.
This year, we have been fortunate to partner with Kendall Kroesen from Mission Garden, a living agricultural museum located in Downtown Tucson that aims to preserve, transmit and revive the region’s rich agricultural heritage by growing garden plots representative of more than 4000 years of continuous cultivation in the Tucson Basin. They posed our students the challenge:
“How might Mission Garden leverage Tomorrow’s Garden to forge a deep connection between food, place, sustainability, and equitable community resilience in Tucson?”
Come along to see how our students have reframed the problem to offer blue sky opportunities for Mission Garden! The exhibition will take place in the Honors Village rooms 1067 and 1068. Students will be presenting their opportunities via posters and pitches, allowing you to drop in at your convenience. We will also be asking you to cast your vote, as there will be prizes for:
- Fan (crowd) favorite
- Innovation Partner favorite
