Nick Knapton, a graduate student in the University of Arizona College of Nursing, needs a wheelchair, but not as a result of being shot and wounded while serving in the Army. He was paralyzed much later by Lyme disease.

Honors College senior Joanna Jandali already is contributing to better systems and outcomes in the U.S. government. A dual major in Political Science and Law with a minor in Arabic, Joanna’s looking ahead to law school and well beyond. While Tucson is home, the bigger world has already captured this student’s attention.

Honors Weekly had to do a little fast pursuit to catch up with Spencer, who is turning his Honors College studies and competitive cycling into a road to his future.

The Honors College early application deadline of November 3, 2019 will be extended to November 15, 2019 for students affected by the California wildfires or the Chicago Public Schools teacher strike.

As part of the University of Arizona's Prison Education Project, Dr. Hunt sparked thinking and discussion as he recently taught at the high-security Rincon Unit inside the Arizona State Prison Complex.

Students from all backgrounds and with diverse life goals energize the Honors College. Student of the Month leads off with Maryan Hassan, a sophomore born 9,000 miles from Tucson, and a scholar with an impact on the University of Arizona even as she pursues a future as a Nurse Practitioner.
