Erin Deely
Erin Deely recently joined the W.A. Franke Honors College after serving as the Director of Recruitment & Student Engagement in the College of Science for over 10 years. Prior to that, she served as the volunteer manager and community outreach coordinator at Arizona Public Media and in the Office of Early Academic Outreach for the Math, Engineering & Science Achievement (M.E.S.A.) program, both at the University of Arizona. In her new role, she oversees the admissions, recruitment, and community outreach initiatives for prospective Honors students and their families. Her and her team serve to inform, inspire, and guide prospective Wildcats as they navigate the university selection and application process. Through rich academic offerings, student driven programs, leadership and undergraduate research opportunities, we aspire to graduate the next generation of visionaries and change makers!
Erin is a proud alumna of the University of Arizona with a bachelors in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology with a Master’s in Human Relations from Northern Arizona University. Straight out of her undergrad program, she worked as a marine biology instructor at Catalina Island Marine Institute followed by a stint in the Peace Corps working with dairy and coffee farmers in Costa Rica, Central America. She returned to Arizona and was hired on as the Education Director for Tucson Audubon Society and later became the Director of the Mason Audubon Center in northwest Tucson. She is also a former, family, restaurant owner that featured central American cuisine. Deely has called Tucson her home for over 25 years, raised her kids, Cassandra & Michael here and takes full advantage of all the hiking and natural beauty of the southwest! Being a Wildcat is a family tradition. Her father, sister and now her son are graduates of the University of Arizona.
