The Black Cinema Series will highlight the lives and stories of Black people who have made major contributions to American history. This film depicts the story of the Lacks family in their fight for acknowledgement and compensation for the use of Henrietta Lacks cells, known as HeLa cells, to advance scientific and medical research.
