This course explores race in America and the relationship with policing, incarceration, and institutional and systemic racism. This discussion-based course encourages personal reflection and making connections to related current events. The course will explore racial disparities and class inequality in the “justice” system through scholarly literature, opinion pieces, lived experiences, court cases, and more.
