SARAH STAMER RECEIVES 2023 ASTRONAUT FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Franke Honors senior Sarah Stamer was awarded the 2023 Astronaut Foundation Scholarship in a ceremony last week. The Astronaut Scholarship is one of the most prestigious and largest merit-based scholarships awarded to undergraduates in STEM, and aims to support the very best and brightest scholars while commemorating the legacy of America’s pioneering astronauts.

UArizona announces $118.65M in gifts toward $3B fundraising campaign

The Fuel Wonder campaign began counting contributions on Jan. 1, 2017, and was officially launched on Friday, November 3, 2023. The campaign has so far raised more than $2 billion, and the W.A. Franke Honors College is one of three named colleges recognized in the campaign.

PRESIDENT ROBBINS MEETS WITH FRANKE HONORS HEALTH AND HUMAN VALUES STUDENTS

On Monday, President Robbins paid a visit to the Honors Village, to meet with students from the Franke Honors Health and Human Values (HHV) minor and learn more about their experiences in the program. The principles of HHV resonated with Dr. Robbins, who, prior to serving as President of the University of Arizona, was an internationally recognized cardiac surgeon.

UARIZONA NAMED FULBRIGHT HSI LEADER THIRD YEAR IN A ROW

For the third year in a row, the University of Arizona has been recognized as a Fulbright HSI Leader by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The award was announced Monday and acknowledges UArizona's longstanding commitment as a Hispanic-Serving Institution to the Fulbright Program, the federal government's flagship international educational exchange program.

TEDxUArizona is an independently organized event that brings together bright ideas, inspiring performances and profound research for a day of sessions and discussions designed to ignite conversation and connection in the University of Arizona and Tucson community. This year, Franke Honors Alumna Halley Hughes is joining the lineup of speakers, amongst other prominent University staff and faculty.

STUDENT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT FOR THIRD ANNUAL DAY OF THE DEAD EVENT

Sept. 18, 2023

The W.A. Franke Honors College is offering a Student Development Project for undergraduate students to participate in integrating culture, community and ephemeral art based on ancestral Mexican technique and expression. Franke Honors students are eligible to apply for positions working on guided design and production of a thematic installation to be displayed during the "Day of the Dead 2023" event on campus.
