Trevor Hedberg researches and teaches about issues in moral philosophy. His research about environmental and procreative ethics was recently published on the Conversation, an independent news organization that publishes trustworthy and informative articles written by academic experts.

Mark and Mindy Zeitzer both earned undergraduate degrees with Honors from the University of Arizona, and both have gone on to careers marked by impressive professional accomplishments in health care as well as profound commitments to the communities they serve.

Franke Honors Junior Esha Mathur has been collaborating with the Pascua Yaqui tribe in Tucson, working to establish workshops for middle and high school students that provide learning opportunities centered around Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Arts (STEAM).

Dr. Caitlyn Hall, Compton Chair for Creative Intelligence and Innovation and Assistant Professor of Practice at the Franke Honors College, is part of an interdisciplinary team of University of Arizona faculty and students working to establish a science and technology policy fellowship program serving the Arizona Legislature.

The beginning of February marks the start of Black History Month, and we are kicking off this monumental month with some exciting events in and around the W.A. Franke Honors College including highlighting Black innovation, music, culture, movement, and more!

After more than a year of serving as Interim Dean at the W.A. Franke Honors College, Professor of Practice in Chemistry and former Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in Franke Honors, Dr. John Pollard, officially steps into the role of Franke Dean.

Dr. Caitlyn Hall has been named Compton Chair for Creative Intelligence and Innovation, and will oversee the college's newest degree program—the Bachelor & Minor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation. This endowment is part of a generous $3.2 million gift that was recently given to the W.A. Franke Honors College by Dr. John Lee Compton.

The Compton Lab for Discovery and Innovation, made possible by Dr. John Lee Compton’s generous gift, includes the establishment of the Endowed Chair for Creative Intelligence and Innovation and Compton Fund for Exploration. A longtime volunteer who has worked with many Franke Honors students on their research projects, Dr. Compton is an advocate for creative inquiry and aims to create a safety net for students who want to take informed risks with their projects.
