Dr. Alok Patel, now Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics – Columbia University, exudes confidence in his outreach education efforts even as he humbly continues to learn from every patient. Despite his lengthening list of academic and professional credentials, he attributes much of his strong start to the University of Arizona Honors College.

Looking for an additional one-credit Honors course? It's not too late to add our second-seven week course offering: HNRS 295H-001: Nature Media with Dr. Scott Selberg - Monday & Wednesday 3:00-3:50pm. beginning Monday, October 15.

This Spring 2019 course is an accelerated introduction to digital filmmaking for Honors students from all majors. Using DSLR cameras and Zoom sound recorders you will learn how to create and interpret sounds and images, and then edit your work. The class also includes a significant community engagement component. After developing skills in documentary media storytelling, you will work in teams on our community-based youth enrichment program, DocVisions.
