The Franke Honors College sits on the original homelands of the Tohono O’odham and the Pascua Yaqui people, who have stewarded this land since time immemorial. November is Native American Heritage Month, and we encourage you to learn more and celebrate the extraordinary contributions and accomplishments of Indigenous people and communities in Tucson and throughout the Southwest.

The W.A. Franke Honors College is proud to celebrate Drs. Karna Walter and Nadia Alvarez Mexia, who have been recognized as 2024 Women of Impact by the Office of Research, Innovation & Impact at the University of Arizona. 

In summer 2025, Franke Honors students will have the chance to participate in a study abroad trip to Greece. This opportunity is open to all Franke Honors students eager to broaden their horizons and deepen their global engagement.

The W.A. Franke Honors College is offering a Student Development Project for undergraduate students to participate in integrating culture, community and ephemeral art based on ancestral Mexican technique and expression. Franke Honors students are eligible to apply for positions working on guided design and production of a thematic installation to be displayed during the "Day of the Dead 2024" event on campus.

Monica Brody-D'Urso is the first University of Arizona student to receive the Voyager Scholarship, becoming one of only 100 students who have been selected from a national pool of impressive scholars for the 2024-2026 cohort.

An interdisciplinary team of Franke Honors faculty and staff recently acquired a $1,500 Grant from The National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC), which will contribute to the continuation of "Bridging Borders: Honors Interdisciplinary Student Talents." 

Nagasriya Ramisetty, Taylor Raney, and Daryl Ijaola will be presenting their Exploratory Mini Grant research during Wellness and Wonder, a free community health expo hosted by the University of Arizona Health Sciences.

The start of the academic year is always filled with excitement as current students come back to campus and new students begin what is sure to be one of the most life-changing experiences they will have in their young adult lives.
