In order to apply for the W.A. Franke Honors College, you must complete the University of Arizona admissions application. Be sure to select “Yes” when prompted about your interest in the W.A. Franke Honors College. You will then have the opportunity to add your supplemental honors materials directly into the general UA application. 

The W.A. Franke Honors College utilizes a holistic evaluation process when reviewing applicants for Honors admission. The following factors will be considered in evaluation:

  • Academic history (core coursework and academic rigor through the end of your sixth semester)
  • W.A. Franke Honors College essay (max. 500 words)
  • Activities and Honors section of University of Arizona admissions application
  • Up to three optional supplements (ex: formal activities résumé, letter of recommendation, writing sample, portfolio of work, etc.)

  • A W.A. Franke Honors College-specific essay
  • An activities résumé


A Note About Test Scores

SAT and/or ACT scores are not considered for students applying to Honors. The W.A. Franke Honors College is test-free, so even if scores are submitted to the University of Arizona we will not see them in Honors applications.
