Mar 20 Image HHV Speaker Series: Dr. Eric Plemons 5 – 6:30 p.m., March 20, 2025 In this short talk, Dr. Eric Plemons will introduce his research as a medical anthropologist studying the politics and practice of sex and gender altering surgery. Through work with specialist clinicians and the people who seek their services, he studies the role of surgical medicine in materializing contested concepts of sex, gender, and transgender. He'll talk about his work on facial feminization surgery, surgical capacity for transgender genital reconstruction, and his current book project on uterine transplant.
