Oct 01 Image Research Prep Workshop #3 5 – 6 p.m., Oct. 1, 2024 So, you have a faculty mentor and an idea for your project… now what? This workshop will cover the ins and outs of proposing your research project—whether you are working on your Thesis Prospectus, Quest Proposal or another research project. We’ll provide you with ideas and resources that will help get your project on track and help you to fill out your prospectus or proposal effectively.
Sep 24 Image Research Prep Workshop #2 5 – 6 p.m., Sept. 24, 2024 If you want to start a Quest Project or your Honors Thesis soon, you’ll need a faculty mentor to oversee your project. You want someone with expertise in your area but also someone you feel comfortable working with and collaborating with. How the heck do you find that though?? This workshop is designed to share ideas for how to find a potential faculty mentor for your project and covers the dos and don’ts of communicating with them. We’ll provide you with ideas for what to include in your emails to them, how to request a meeting with them, and how to actually ask them to be your mentor.
Sep 17 Image Research Prep Workshop #1 5 – 6 p.m., Sept. 17, 2024 Whether you are pursuing a Quest Project, your Honors Thesis, or another type of research project the first step should be narrowing your topic and finding a faculty thesis mentor in that area. This workshop will provide space and resources for reflecting and choosing your topic as well as sharing how to use some of our online databases to find a fitting faculty mentor to oversee your project.
