What to expect

Through guided readings — including Start with Why, Leaders Eat Last, and The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek — structured weekly meetings, and active participation in college initiatives, interns examine how values-driven leadership translates into institutional impact. Conversations focus on purpose-centered leadership, trust-building, culture formation, organizational design, and long-term strategic thinking.

Interns may contribute to special projects aligned with the Dean’s priorities, which can include student engagement strategy, leadership development initiatives, event planning, and strategic initiatives within the Honors College. The experience emphasizes reflection, dialogue, and applied leadership practice rather than administrative task work.

Beyond higher education leadership, Dean Pollard maintains an extensive professional network across industries. Interns gain mentorship and exposure that can extend beyond academia, with potential introductions to leaders in other sectors aligned with students’ career interests.
