The course will start with how the Earth was formed 4.55 billion years ago and life evolved. The course will then focus on how the various ecosystems of the Earth work  to maintain life in the planet and how these ecosystems are changing. Students will create and monitor experiments in the ecosystems of Biosphere2, which is the largest ecological experimental facility in the world.
