In this seminar, students will use materials they discover in Poetry Center Library collections as generative prompts for their own creative writing. This approach will encourage experimentation and close reading: students will spend the semester identifying "moves" within a series of poems and using those moves in their own work, expanding the formal tools in their writing toolboxes. Each student will be responsible for generating at least one writing prompt derived from a poem in the Center's collections to teach their peers.
