We’re going to explore three old and living mythologies—Egyptian, Indian, Aztec. Why? To learn something about our lives today. Along the way we will strengthen our writing, re-writing, editing, and research and documentation skills, while addressing the value of orality in our written and verbal expression. To complement our studies, we will frame the semester attending two very world-mythologicalish plays—Barry and Pearson’s Peter and the Starcatcher and Shakespeare’s The Tempest—at the beginning and at the end of the term, respectively. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.
