The Honors Engagement Funding categories are designed to support a wide range of academic, professional, creative, and experiential learning opportunities. Because some activities may overlap between categories, students should apply under the category that best reflects the *primary purpose* of the experience.
Selecting the Correct Category
When determining the most appropriate funding category, students should consider:
- The primary purpose of the experience
- The role of the student in the activity
- Whether the experience is academic, professional, research-based, or work-based
- Whether the student is learning, working, presenting, or conducting research
If an experience could reasonably fit multiple categories, students should apply under the category that best aligns with the main objective of the activity.

| Professional Development | Skill/career growth |
