All four of our guests give their insight on what it means to be a black woman in leadership positions, and what has inspired them to continue leading with authenticity.

This past semester, Franke Honors Professor Dr. Nadia Alvarez Mexia, co-taught her course HNRS 335: Leadership: Building and Nourishing a Community with Adrienne Brown, a postdoc at the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy.

Portia Cooper and Bryce Wilson, both W.A. Franke Honors students, are recipients of this years' Goldwater Scholarship. Goldwater Scholars demonstrate outstanding potential, and they intend to pursue research-oriented careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering.

On May 9 at McKale Memorial Center, the W.A. Franke Honors College will be celebrating the spring graduating class of 2024. Every semester, we acknowledge select students that have exemplified the values of the college; what it means to seek, connect, create, evolve and celebrate, both personally and academically.

Sherri Silverberg, lecturer in accounting in the Eller College of Management, has been selected as the 2024 recipient of The Margaret M. Briehl and Dennis T. Ray Five Star Faculty Award. The Margaret M. Briehl and Dennis T. Ray Five Star Faculty Award is the only student-selected teaching award at the University of Arizona, comprised of all W.A. Franke Honors students.
