Resume Guide for Franke Honors Graduates

For Franke Honors graduates, you can include your experience as an Honors student very similarly to how you would if you were a current student. Consider writing “W.A. Franke Honors College at the University of Arizona” as your institution, or you can include your participation in Franke Honors below the institution, along with your other campus memberships. Your resume should also include the degrees you have earned, of course! You should indicate in which degree you earned honors. If you graduated with a degree with honors in Chemistry, for example, you would write “Bachelor of Science with honors in Chemistry.”
Here are some examples of formatting for Honors graduates:

And… if you double-majored and/or double-minored? We recommend indicating the degree(s) in which you earned honors. If you’re a double-major and completed one thesis, you will have earned honors designation in only the program in which you completed your thesis. That program can be your major or minor. For example, you can write something like:

“Bachelor of Arts.
Majors: History and East Asian Studies, with honors”

“Bachelor of Science with honors in Business Administration and Physics”

“Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
Bachelor of Arts with honors in Philosophy”

“Bachelor of Arts
Graduated with honors in Education
Minor in Spanish”

“Bachelor of Science with honors in Astronomy and Bachelor of Arts in Art History”

“Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences and a minor in Health and Human Values, with honors, and a minor in Public Health”

_______

If you’re a Franke Honors graduate, we know you must’ve completed an honors thesis as well. You can/should boast about that in your resume! (Sing it from the rooftops, besties!) Notice in the above examples that the writers mention the subject of their thesis and even include a synopsis of their thesis project.
Consider writing the subject of your thesis, the title, a summary of the project, and/or your mentor in your resume. You deserve to show off all that effort! And this project can communicate to employers that you are dedicated, organized, curious, etc. – all the employable qualities it took to finish that huge project.
Here are some ideas for how to write about your project:
