At this HHV Speaker Series session, John Neatherlin, the Deputy Director of Public Health Services and Surveillance, will speak about current health issues affecting Pima County.
John Neatherlin is currently the Deputy Director for Health Services and Surveillance at the Pima County Health Department, which he joined last year. Prior to coming to Tucson, he worked for 23 years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, primarily on global disease outbreak response teams. John will discuss the role of public health from a global to now local perspective, what are the common values and skills that have served him in his career that included tackling Ebola outbreaks in West Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo to controlling measles outbreaks in the Tucson community to identifying health concerns of data center development in desert communities.
