The Franke Lavender Scholars is dedicated to exploring queer culture and history from an academic perspective. At this first session we'll be making zines and enjoying each other's company and snacks. Open to everyone! Mar 26 Image Research Prep Workshop #2: Communicating with Faculty 4 – 5 p.m., March 26, 2025 If you want to start a Quest Project or your Honors Thesis soon, you’ll need a faculty mentor to oversee your project. You want someone with expertise in your area but also someone you feel comfortable working with and collaborating with. How the heck do you find that though?? This workshop is designed to share ideas for how to find a potential faculty mentor for your project and covers the dos and don’ts of communicating with them. We’ll provide you with ideas for what to include in your emails to them, how to request a meeting with them, and how to actually ask them to be your mentor. All are welcome! Mar 27 Image Developing a Global Mindset for STEM 5 – 6 p.m., March 27, 2025 Are you studying in one of the STEM fields? Learn what it means to have an international mindset and why it’s essential to STEM. Mar 29 Image Honors Build Day 6:30 – 10 a.m., March 29, 2025 Honors Build Day is an opportunity for you to serve in the Tucson community by assisting Habitat for Humanity with building homes for community members. Apr 02 Image Current Wildcat Info Session 3 – 4 p.m., April 2, 2025 Are you a current UA Wildcat and interested in joining the W.A. Franke Honors College? All students who want to apply to the W.A. Franke Honors College via the Current Wildcat Application process must attend a Current Wildcat Application Information Session. In the session we will cover information about Franke Honors graduation requirements and how to apply to the W.A. Franke Honors College.
